After a ton of backlash aimed at Ticketmaster for quietly changing its refund policy to no longer offer fans their money back for postponed shows, parent company Live Nation has launched their Ticket Relief program to help ticket holders of shows that are getting cancelled by COVID-19.
Ticket Relief will offer a 30-day window to fans to get refunds for ticket for postponed or rescheduled shows, as well as canceled shows. Live Nation will also offer the option of offering the ticket holder a 150% credit voucher for a new ticket. If a show you have a ticket to was already announced as postponed and you have yet to receive a refund, the 30 day window will begin on May 1st.
Live Nation is trying to sweeten the credit deal by saying if you choose that option, it will donate a free ticket to a future concert for a health care worker. The fine details are below. Check out the Ticket Relief site here.
So what's a culture to do when faced with such a troublemaker? When someone is too popular, too powerful, too talented, too demanding, too avant garde, too loud, too in your face and too larger than life? What are we to do with such an irritant, especially when he’s right? Silence him.Vilify him.Ridicule him.Make him irrelevant.Mock him.Humiliate him. Nullify him.Crucify him.Lock him up. Hamstring him.But above all—dehumanize him.
Why a window? I have sympathy for them because I know their business got hit hard but they were shady little shits to begin with. They're still going to fuck you over. That new ticket is going to be for some band you never heard of. Get what money you can back from them as quick as you can. Bet you're not getting the fees back and wouldn't surprise me if they charge you a fee for the refund. Tell me something good about this business because I have a bad opinion about them.
